paper-city-5125can cities be per­fect? the royal acad­emy is host­ing an exhi­bi­tion of illus­tra­tion, draw­ing, and other art­work pro­duced in col­lab­o­ra­tion with blue­print mag­a­zine, whose back pages have fea­tured these ‘paper cities’ over the last three years. the exhi­bi­tion fea­tures work by illus­tra­tor and designer takayo akiyama as well as other notable archi­tects and illus­tra­tors, some of them spe­cially invited royal aca­d­e­mi­cians. in a move no doubt cal­cu­lated to delight envi­ron­men­tally con­cerned vis­i­tors, peo­ple are invited to make their own cat­a­logue by tear­ing off prints of the exhibits mounted on the walls. the prizewin­ning designer will receive a zaha hadid designed vase.
