following closely after the big malevich exhibition at tate modern last summer, the whitechapel gallery is soon to present a major survey of 20th century abstraction in art covering the period 1915 to the present day. taking malevich’s black and white suprematist compositions as a starting point, the exhibition will take in some 100 modernist and contemporary artists, including great names such as rodchenko, mondrian, carl andre, and dan flavin.
the show will be augmented with a number of special events, talks and screenings in conjunction with the exhibition. it’s likely to be a popular show given the names involved, and in anticipation the gallery is open now for forward booking.
