hiroshima museum of contemporary art

this museum, designed by kisho kurokawa, architect of the metabolist movement building; tokyo’s nakagin tower’, perhaps as much admired, and loved as reviled. although formal and ordered, it nevertheless demonstrates kurokawa’s concern with modularity and organic formulation.

these images were made on an afternoon stroll this year in august, when the temperature was over 40ºC i wasn’t sure i’d survive. nevertheless well worth visiting
