montmartre

in the later days of september 2021 i went to stay in paris. it was only the second time i’d left the uk since the pandemic began. (like many others my perceptions of passing months and years have been strangely altered. i still, even now, tend to think of ‘last year’ as 2019.) the district and hill of montmartre and the cathedral of sacré coeur dominate the skyline of paris when looking north from any elevated point in the city. renting an appartemente gave me the opportunity to get to know the historic and hilly district a little more intimately than before.
